Masculine Cards

The last month (May) was a time to get ready for Father's Day.  I'm usually a day behind rather than a day ahead.  Once I saw the new Jack Workshop Your Way, I became really excited about making masculine cards of any kind.  So what do consultants do when that happens?  They have a workshop!

These are the cards that we made which are all standard size cards (4-1/4" x 5-1/2"):

Here is a closer look at each card.  First such a handsome guy:

Next is a card that came from the optional card workshop (that can be downloaded from the here).  I always add a few changes just to switch it up:

Finally the last one.  I just love this cutie bear!  I saw a card similar to this on Pinterest that gave me the idea for this card, however, I can't remember where I saw it but that had such cute projects.  If this was your idea, I'd love to give you credit here.  😊

One Sheet Wonder Workshop

Here is the post of all the cards from the One Sheet Wonder Workshop (14 cards from one 12" x 12" B&T decorative sheet).  My last two posts featured the March Stamp of the Month (Tea-riffic, now retired) and February Stamp of the Month (Easter Bunnies, also retired).  I used March's featured Papers for this Workshop - Dreamin' Big Bulk Papers.  Note that I used both sides of the double-sided B&T papers.

First picture is of all the cards that were designed for the workshop:

Next are the three cards not previously featured in prior posts:

This features the C1639 Take Heart stamp set.

This features C1672 Silly Sayings and C1673 Some Kind of Wonderful-Cardmaking Stamp Sets.

This features the D1664 Packages, Boxes and Tags Stamp Set.

The next pictures show the card that were intentionally left blank so that should an unexpected occasion come up, one could quickly add the greeting and maybe some other quick embellishments.

The One Sheet Wonder cutting pattern is below and was found on Pinterest:

This was the suggested layouts for these 14 cards also found on Pinterest:

And here how my 14 cards line up to these layouts:

If you haven't tried one of these, they are a lot of fun.  Here are the stamp sets (not previously posted) that were used.  First is C1673 Some Kind of Wonderful-Cardmaking:

January 2017 Stamp of the Month With Sugar Rush

I decided I was not going to let another month go by without creating at least one card with the current month's Stamp of the Month.  So here is my card using Sugar Rush (and the colors) with the January Stamp of the Month.  It always dismays me that it takes me a whole day to create a card.  Some people have a concept in their head before they start.  Mine seems to come together painfully slow piece by piece.

My card is a standard size card:

Here is more of a side view where you can kinda see the inside of the card:

Sugar Rush Post-it-Note & Pencil Holder

This weekend my monthly workshop was scheduled however, I have one horrible cold & soar throat crud.  This is what we were going to make at the workshop--Sugar Rush Post-It Note & Pencil Holder with calendar.  I found a place online which prints calendars here.  I selected the yearly calendar that printed the calendars in landscape mode and it fit perfectly for this little box!  First is the front side of the holder:

A view of both sides of holder - showing more of the pencil holder side:

Pencil box side of holder:

Papers:  G1118 Sugar Rush, Pomegranate, and White Daisy Cardstocks

Inks:  Pomegranate Exclusives Inks

Other: Sizzix thinlits Tim Holtz Happy Holidays words

With my containers, I actually used some textured cardstock that was long ago retired.  I like it because it is a heavier cardstock and I thought it would stand up a little better than regular cardstock. You can find an instructional video from Libby Stampz, an Australian stamper here.  Here are the quick instructions:

1.  Notepad Holder:  Cut a 7-1/4" x 7-1/4" piece of cardstock and score all sides at 2" and cut on the green lines.

2.  Cut three pieces of decorative paper at 3-1/8" x 1-7/8" (that will go on 3 showing sides of the notepad holder).  On the side of the box that will face the front, you will use a 1-3/8" circle punch to punch out a half circle (see finished picture).

3.  Pencil Box:  Cut an 8-1/4" x 8-1/4" piece of cardstock.  Score one set of opposite sides (see below) at 3-1/4" and the other set of opposite sides at 2-1/2".  Cut on the green lines.  Trim off excesses (yellow areas) as shown:

4.  Cut two pieces of decorative paper at 3-1/8" x 1-5/8".  Adhere to sides of pencil holder.
Cut one piece of decorative paper at 3-1/8" x 3-1/8".  Adhere to front of pencil holder.

5.  Back Piece:  Cut a piece of cardstock 3-1/4" x 5-1/2".
Cut 2 pieces of matching cardstock (one for front & back) at 3-1/8" x 5-3/8".
Cut one layer decorative paper (for front) at 3" x 5-1/4".  Stamp and embellish.

This project was great fun and pretty easy to make!  Enjoy!
